Tattoo Studio, run by (sole proprietor) the world famous Larry
Shaw. Larry has been slingin ink for 37 years, 25 right here
in Houston. Shaws is one of the oldest & most famous Tattoo
Studios in Houston. Known the world over for finest tattooing
and most original designs. "No
limit but what you limit yourself to in tattooing."
When tattooed at Shaws
its a single service usage. Single service usage, meaning
everything that is used is sterilized. Nothing is put together
until you are being serviced, everything comes out of a sterile
bag, which is numbered & dated. Pigment (color) is poured
in individual capsules & thrown away - Tattoo needles
are thrown away in a biohazard container along with gloves-towels-kleenex,
everything used to do the tattoo. All biohazard is picked
up weekly - all autoclaves are monitored weekly & recorded.
All instruments are sterilized at 270º F, 30 PSI for 55 minutes
from a cold start. So you are insured the safest & best
way of a trouble free tattoo. Be sure you get the best.
Everyone working at Shaws
is certified in the continuing education in the prevention
of disease transmission in tattooing and related body art
disciplines making sure everyone applying the tattoo is up
to date on the latest safety & sterile procedures to date.
Shaws is ran with the highest standards & integrity in
tattooing.
Mr. Shaw works basically
by Appointment. He's in the studio, Tues.-Fri. 10 am to 3pm.
If you would like him to work on you please call & set
an appointment, 713-528-1255. Other than that the shop is
open 10am 'til Midnight, 7 days a week. Walk-ins welcome.
Also working in the studio is Larry's youngest "Lil Larry
Shaw II." Also applying their skills part time are
Mike Packer, Dave Obregon, Larry Bale, Travis Flower, and Brandon Williamson.

Shaws is one of the oldest
& most famous tattoo families in the U.S.A. known all
over the world. The most from coast to coast. Shaws also just sold
the oldest Tattoo Studio in the world in Long Beach, California.
"World Famous Bert Grimms Tattoo Studio" 22 Chestnut
Place in Long Beach, opened in 1927. This is where the Shaws
were before coming to Houston in 1979. Bert Grimm was Bob
Shaw's Uncle. Bert Tattooed for about 65 yrs. Bob, which is
Larry's Dad - Lil Larry's Grandpa, Tattooed for over 50 years
before leaving for a better place. Bob helped pass & set
the standards on Tattooing & the Technique on sterilization
back in the 60's. Bob was also the President of the Worlds
Largest Tattoo Association - National Tattoo Association when
he passed away on Mar. 17, 1993. He was the 3rd inductee into
the Tattoo Hall of Fame - which was called the Golden Age
Award - honoring those tattooing for 50 yrs - which was later
changed to the Bob Shaw award. Bert was the 1st inductee into
the Hall of Fame. Our other family member was the #9 inductee
in the Hall of Fame, he was Col W.L. Todd, who worked with
the Shaws from the late 50's to his passing on June 12,1994, so
you can see (quite) a history in tattooing. The Shaws have
been around for a long time. We specialize in Traditional,
Oriental, Tribal, Fine Line & Custom Tattooing.
